Denver Union Station Baby Shower

Okay guys, you can call off the search.  You’ve come to the right place if you’re looking to throw a fun and affordable baby shower in one of the best spots in Denver – Union Station.  I, along with my long time friend, Katie, had the honor of throwing our dear friend her baby shower.  We wanted it to be perfect. What better setting than the historic and beautiful Union Station?

With permission from the manager, we set up shop at a table in the Great Hall outside of Terminal Bar at no cost (no cost!).  For party favors we ordered macarons from La Fillette Bakery and  brought in our own decor.  It was just that simple.

The most important part of any shower?  The food and drinks.  Yes, drinks. Where do you even start when the group you are feeding includes gluten-free, lactose intolerant, vegetarian, shellfish allergy and vegan?  Nope, I’m not kidding. The great thing about Union Station is that you have so many options for outstanding food!  We were aiming to keep this afternoon shower casual and ordered from the Kitchen Next Door.  Our array of food included the ever popular kale chips, fried pickles, the beet, pork and beef sliders all on gluten-free buns.  The Kitchen Next Door was so accommodating and brought the food to us in the Great Hall.  Matt, the bartender from Terminal Bar, kept all the ladies happy with innumerable French 75’s.  He even made the momma-to-be a special mocktail.  I have to say,  Union Station is a very busy location and the service was definitely above average.

After we all bestowed our best advice on Bria, the mom-to-be, it was time for dessert!  Each guest had an ice cream token to redeem at Milkbox Creamery. Milkbox has an array of delightful options, even vegan ones.  As we finished our dessert it was time for the guys to join the party.

Although it is tradition to have a shower be only for the girls, it is both parents who are entering parenthood and deserve a send off.  Dad-to-be, Wade, joined us first and the rest of the guys followed.  We ordered more food and cocktails from Terminal Bar and this baby shower turned party was certainly fun and festive!
Bria and Wade, we were all so thrilled to celebrate your entrance into parenthood.  Your adventure is just beginning!
